From 5 to 23 March 2026, the Planet Pulse partnership delivered a five session Virtual Learning Series bringing together young people, youth workers, educators and community practitioners from across Europe.
The series explored climate anxiety through emotional reflection, practical tools, peer learning and youth led action. Each session created space for participants to recognise climate related feelings, share experiences and identify realistic ways to respond.
Emotional Navigation
The first Emotional Navigation session was led by Irina Pleva of Climate Creativity. It introduced the six themes of the Planet Pulse Climate Anxiety Check and helped participants recognise their feelings, identify their resilience window, cultivate hope, strengthen connections and engage in collective action.
A second reflective session was delivered by Aoife Guckian of Roscommon LEADER Partnership. Built around written climate anxiety stories from rural Ireland, it created a quieter space for young people and educators to explore difficult emotions before considering action.
Youth Led Co Creation
Momentum and the Green Roots Project hosted the first Co Creation Lab, led by Con Bartels. Participants shared local climate ideas, heard examples from Ireland, Slovenia, Norway and other countries, and developed practical plans they could bring back to their organisations and communities.
The second Co Creation Lab was delivered by Drejc Kokošar of ID20. It brought a Slovenian and Central European perspective to climate anxiety and youth action. Participants worked in small groups to shape early ideas into practical project concepts.
Resilience Framework Tutorials
TheVisionWorks, led by David Blunck, delivered practical tutorials on the Planet Pulse Resilience Framework. These sessions supported youth workers, educators and organisations to use the framework directly with young people. The tutorials were designed for continued use within training, youth work and community settings.
Kinderstadt, Germany
The Learning Series also built on Planet Pulse activity delivered through Kinderstadt in Germany during summer 2025. Hundreds of children took part in an environmental city experience using reusable materials, practical learning and climate focused activities. This work created a foundation for the Spring 2026 series and extended Planet Pulse to younger audiences, families and primary school educators.
Final Showcase in Roscommon
The programme concluded with an in person Planet Pulse Final Showcase at Kilbride Community Centre, County Roscommon, on 22 April 2026.
Over 400 young people came together to explore climate action, share their perspectives and engage directly with community and political representatives. Their concerns, ideas and experiences were heard by the elected Cathaoirleach, giving young people a visible platform within a public community event.
What Changed for Young People
The series gave young people language for feelings they had often carried alone. It offered private ways to reflect, practical routes into action, flexible learning opportunities and contact with trusted adults equipped to respond.
Participants also encountered peers from across Europe who had experienced similar feelings and challenges. Through reflection, conversation and shared action, Planet Pulse transformed climate anxiety into connection, confidence, voice and action.
The Virtual Learning Series will remain part of the Planet Pulse learning offer, providing youth organisations, educators and community groups with practical resources they can continue to use.
